I am taking some risk posting this prior to the jury’s decision, but irrespective of their ultimate decision of guilty or not guilty, this story shows the deteriorating state of the rule of law in the United States. The George Zimmerman case is only in the courtroom because of racism (on the part of liberals and blacks) and media manipulation (NBC, for example, editing the 9-1-1 tape to make Zimmerman appear to be a racist, which, ironically, should have nothing to do with a second degree murder charge or manslaughter charge).
Ex-Sanford Police chief Bill Lee gave an exclusive interview to CNN.
It is mind-numbingly disgusting – not because of him – but because of what happened to him and the ultimate filing of charges against a man who is now defending his freedom in a courtroom solely because of irrational, political and illegal hijacking of due process.
Unfortunately I think the Zimmerman trial is but a microcosm of what is happening in the United States.
If this isn’t mob rule, I don’t know what is:
Bill Lee, who testified Monday in Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial, told CNN’s George Howell in an exclusive interview that he felt pressure from city officials to arrest Zimmerman to placate the public rather than as a matter of justice.
Here’s the interview:
“I upheld my oath,” Lee said. “I’m happy that at the end of the day I can walk away with my integrity.”
When the judicial system loses its integrity, we’re simply one step closer to tyranny.
And what can we expect if the jury finds Zimmerman not guilty?
Broward Sheriff Scott Israel, his top brass, several police chiefs and dozens of pastors and community leaders from throughout the county met on Tuesday to prepare for any fallout triggered by the verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial. The sheriff is quoted as saying:
“We have no reason to believe there will be any civil unrest of any kind,” Israel said. “We just want to be prepared.”
Certainly you plan, but you plan for both the expected and the unexpected.
I believe the Sheriff expects riots.
