Revolutions are difficult things. Oftentimes we want to shout support for the rebels who are often fighting tyranny of some sort. Our American heritage inculcates that into our unique DNA. Bad guys need to be overthrown so the oppressed people can live in liberty and freedom. Unfortunately, revolutions are often much more complex than that simple formula. Such is the situation in Syria.
No question Assad is a dictator, oppressor and murderer. He should be gone. The temptation therefore is to support those rebels trying to overthrow his regime. Senator John McCain keeps advocating support for those rebels along with his RINO cohort Lindsey Graham:
Some conservative U.S. lawmakers, such as Republican Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham, have criticized the administration of President Barack Obama for moving too slowly to assist the rebels and have suggested the U.S. government become directly involved in arming Assad’s opponents.
Who are these rebels that McCain and Graham keep telling us to support?
They’re murderers, too.
Members of the rebel Free Syrian Army executed regime loyalists in the embattled northern city of Aleppo on Tuesday, according to amateur video posted on YouTube by activists.
The video showed members of the Al-Berri tribe being led into a square filled with armed men, chanting: “The FSA forever!”
The face of one of the captives was covered in blood, and he had been stripped almost naked, as rebels gathered around him and stood him against a wall.
Other captives were lined up next to him, as rebels chanted: “God is greatest.”
They opened a torrent of fire on their captives, identified as members of a tribe that entered the fighting on Tuesday in Aleppo on the side of the regime.
So the people McCain wants us to support line up Assad regime loyalists up against a wall and summarily execute them while chanting “Allahu Akbar.”
You know, the same chant that Colonel Hassan shouted as he murdered those Americans at Ft. Hood.
The “Arab Spring” in Syria, which began as a popular and non-violent uprising against Bashar Assad’s regime, has been hijacked by Al-Qaeda and other radical Islamist organizations.
What’s our response?
President Obama earlier this year authorized the CIA to start assisting Al-Qaeda in Syria. This is utter insanity. The very enemy we’re fighting in Afghanistan, fought in Iraq, and that attacked us on 9/11, is now secretly receiving CIA support.
Our foreign policy is in such a total disarray that we are now secretly supporting those who took down the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon.
Foreign policy, while a backseat issue to the current economic situation, is just one more reason that we must have our own regime change in November.
