Chicago Chick-fil-A Kiss-In Protesters “Chalk” Homeless Street Preacher

The Chic-Fil-A saga continues, and this video, which should go viral, is particularly disturbing. You’ve seen these street preachers before, some of who may be a little nuts, others very serious. You can make your own call about this.

I don’t normally do this, but this is a complete reposting from Professor William A. Jacobson’s Legal Insurrection blog.

At last count, Anne’s video of the Chick-fil-A Kiss-in protesters taunting a homeless street preacher had over 115,000 views on YouTube.

The post in which the video appeared was Chicago Chick-fil-A Kiss-In protesters “chalk” homeless street preacher with a follow up Occupy Chicago activist claims to be person taunting homeless man at Chick-fil-A protest.

This is what I would call “pre-viral.”

The key figure in the video is defending his conduct not just in our comment section but at Facebook as well:

You can spread the link to the video by visiting the YouTube page and hitting the Share button and then Twitter or Facebook. Or, just embed this link in your Tweet, http://youtu.be/x8G4jI3VI8U.

We also have activated the Emergency Broadcast System for the next few hours which will make it easy for you to Tweet the link.

Thanks to Professor Jacobson for keeping this story alive. I hope you will, too.

That’s what the Brownshirts said “Well the Communists/Trade Unionists/Christian Democrats/Anyone we felt like deserved it….” Notice how brave these folks are in large groups.

This is the best you’ve got? Protesters protesting each other? Get a life.

    • David, that’s pathetic. I doubt you even watched the video. This story is about the utter demeaning actions toward a simple street preacher by a bunch of bullies. If you can’t see that then I truly feel sorry for you. My guess is you didn’t read the story, you didn’t watch the video, you didn’t see the hate toward a simple, unassuming, bystander. That street preacher may or may not agree with gay marriage, homosexuality, gay rights or for that matter whether pigs fly, but he did NOT deserve to be treated that way. If you can’t see that, then pull out of your eye whatever is making you blind. I don’t know what MVPS.org is (your email domain) but I pray that organization doesn’t condone the kind of behavior in the video.

    Michael,

What better example of gentleness and patience than this? In the face of opposition and hate, which I am sure he knew was coming, he still went to preach the Gospel to them.

That elderly homeless man is much braver than any of those yobs. Would they stand on their own like he does – giving freely whatever he can give? The apostle Paul did the same and the ignorant yobs of his day persecuted him. Yes, sure, there is hypocrisy in Christendom, but that brave man is not a hypocrite. He is doing what he knows is right – trying to teach God’s word to those who haven’t bothered to look into it. – Matthew 28:19. Who then ARE the hypocrites? Jesus said “If they have persecuted me they will persecute you also” – John 15:20. He isn’t in gold coloured robes with a mitre on his head looking pompous and being waited on hand and foot like the Pope. Jesus himself warned someone who wanted to follow him: “Foxes have dens and birds have roosts, but the sonn of man (himself) has nowhee to lay down his head.” Matthew 8:20 and this brave man is doing his best to follow the teachings of the Prince of Peace.

  5. The only person in this video acting with love is the man of God. The even bigger part is that one man said he hates God, however Jesus still loves him the same. He speaks out of ignorance and lack of understanding of the word. We need to pray for those who come against us, bless those who persecute us. In this world we will have trouble. Fear not, Jesus has overcome this world. Preach on man of God.

You are absolutely right. I am with you all the way. That man was bullying a weaker, older, man. The early Christians had to put up with that and worse, and they will be resurrected when the time comes.ONLY the Prince of Peace can clean the earth of all the pollutants, and bring peace to the earth. He knows what needs to be done. “The one seated on the white horse is called Faithful & True & he judges & carries on war in righteousness.” Rev 19. Aksi 2 Cor 10:4-5. I hope the elderly man is shown all the emails from people who support him and that someone helps him find a home to sleep in. No elderly person should be homeless.
